Dzeko’s last train

Date:

Out of 37 years old, 18 of them dedicated to professional soccer, Edin Dzeko will play in the first final of Champions League of his long career. A last train that arrived, strangely, in front of his former team, a City of Manchester who starts as a favorite but to lift his long-awaited ‘orejona’ he has to stop the Bosnian in one of his best moments of football, living in the second youth.

The arrival of stupid in the ranks of the ‘nerazzurri’ it seems that he will keep the veteran Dzeko in the second role, but the good registers and good performance of the Bosnian -all added to the lack of success of stupid– they reversed the situation and he is, at least for now, the favorite striker of simone inzgahiboth in Serie A and the ‘Champions’.

One last great opportunity he didn’t want to miss to grow his legacy. Of course, stupid now he has woken up. He is in the best moment of the season and this may be the first time he has played earlier Dzeko in an important game this season, even if everything indicates that Inzaghi will hide Dzeko next to irreplaceable Lautaro Martinezbeacon of the interista team.

Regardless of the order of entering the field, both will have minutes. Although, depending on the result, they can do it together if necessary. But if for most of the squad it was a special game, just because Lautaro and Barella it can be said that they played an equally important match, the final of Qatar World Cup 2022 and the end of EURO 2020respectively, for Dzeko it is a little more, if possible.

And this is the team where he spent five seasons (winter 2011 – summer 2015) and where he lived special moments like premier league of 2012, the first of the ‘cityzens’, where he scored the equalizer for the two ahead of the decisive and historic goal of ‘If Aguero. He also won another Premier League, FA Cup, Community Shield and Carabao Cup with the light blue shirt.

“I’m glad to play the final of ‘Champions’, certainly. This is the first time and I came at the age of 37. Never say never, but it may be the last, and that’s why I want to enjoy it,” he said BT Sports at Inter’s Media Day.

“To be included in the finals of ‘Champions League’ against my old club, where I am close, is something very important for me, I really want to play,” he added.

With 22 goals and 9 assists in Serie A in his last two seasons, and with seven goals and two assists in Champions League, Dzeko is another example of a player, such as Modricwhich showed that age is just a number.

“I feel good and that’s the most important thing. Last year and this year I showed that I can play at a high level, and that’s what counts in the end. Now I’m thinking about the final, then I’ll think about the future but it’s very good how I feel,” he told the British channel.

Dzeko, like all his fellow Interistas, is faced with the opportunity of his life. But for the Bosnian, as he himself said, it could be the last. An end to a career that at this moment will not end but will undoubtedly make his name great. A final train that arrived accompanied by a special aura, where the most important title at club level would be played for the first time in his career and before his old family.
