Brentford have unveiled the most expensive signing in their history

Brentford, ninth this season in the Premier League, announced on Monday the final acquisition of 21-year-old German international winger Kevin Schade, on loan from Freiburg since January.

The young player signed a contract for five seasons, until 2028, and became a record signing in the history of Brentford, which did not disclose the amount, local press estimates at 22 million pounds (25.6 million euros). Full international on two occasions with Germany since last March (this summer the European sub’21 will play), Schade’s transfer makes the agreement of both clubs effective at the end of the January market. “When Kevin joined us on loan, we agreed with Freiburg that the move would be permanent this summer if certain conditions were met,” explained Phil Giles, Brentford’s director of football.
