Sergio Rico has been continuously admitted to the ICU of the Virgen del Rocío Hospital in Seville since he was on May 28 he had an accident with a horse while traveling in El Rocío (Huelva), but his state of health continues to improve satisfactorily.
Alba Silva, the wife of the goalkeeper of Paris Saint-Germain, has confirmed that her husband recognizes her relatives. “He improved, patiently but step by step. Sergio was talking to us and calling us by name. He knows who we all are going in,” he explained to the media present around the hospital in the capital of Seville.
Rico was in a coma for a week and doctors kept him in the ICU for almost a month after his admission. “I hope they pass it on to the plant as soon as possible, but they need to be sure and they haven’t decided yet. So when they decide, we trust them. We make sure that he is well and calm while we are together”, added Alba Silva.
The Sevillian goalkeeper communicates with his family and friends through gestures, although it is a matter of time before he regains his speech.
The family is considering that Rico does not remember the accident he experienced and for him he did not know the reason why he was hospitalized. “I don’t think so, but we won’t know until he talks”
