The Russian Daria Kasatkina (11) and the American Madison Keys (25) will play in the final of the WTA grass tournament in Eastbourne (United Kingdom), after defeating their rivals, the Italian. Camila Giorgi and the American Coco Gauff, respectively.
Keys defeated the fifth-seeded Gauff in an easy match that lasted one hour and 20 minutes, en route to a 6-3 double.
Both Americans have met on three previous occasions. The first runner-up broke Gauff’s two-fight winning streak, in 2022 at the US Open and in 2023 at the Dubai tournament.
Russian Daria Kasatkina, the English tournament’s ninth favorite, secured her place in the final, after defeating Italian Giorgi 6-2, 7-5, in two sets that were defined by consecutive defeats by the Italian.
Eleven service losses in total (four in the first set and seven in the second), with the Russian losing four. In the second set, the number of breaks (7) exceeded the number of times they held serve, five.
