the american golfer Matthew Wolff has said that it breaks his heart that his compatriot Brooks Koepkahis team captain break of LIV Golfcriticized you considering you are dealing with ongoing mental health issues.

Koepka’s comments on Sports Illustrated earlier this week came after Wolff withdrew in May from a tournament in Washington cited an undisclosed injury. The winner of five titles of grand slam he also criticized the 24-year-old Wolff’s work ethic.

“I mean, when you give up your lap, you give up and stuff like that, that’s not racing, I don’t want all that. You’re not working hard. It’s very difficult to have even a team dynamic when you have a guy who won’t work, a guy who won’t he makes an effort, he leaves the field, he gets split, he’s discouraged, he has bad body language. He’s very tough. He has a lot of talent, but the talent is wasted,” Koepka said.

Wolff said Koepka’s criticisms were hard to take. “It’s heartbreaking to hear in the media that our team leader has given up on me,” Wolff said in a statement to Sports Illustrated.

“This is not what a team member expects to hear from their leader, and I think we all know these comments should have been handled differently. But I’m moving on and I’m never going to give up. Until ‘t I stay in Of course, the results may not look like today. some positive indicators, but I’m trying to win the bigger game in my life,” answered Wolff.

Wolff won the 3M Open in 2019 in his third PGA tournament and also faced the final day of US Open 2020 before finishing second behind Bryson DeChambeau.

Wolff chose to take two months off in 2021 to address his mental health. Those problems, according to him, remain with him to this day.

“While my 2023 season hasn’t been everything I hoped it would be up to this point, I’ve taken positive steps in managing my life and I feel like my game is getting positive again,” Wolff told Sports Illustrated.

“I’m sure Brooks wants the best for our team, but it’s hard to imagine that his words align in any way with those priorities. This is my last comment on the matter,” concluded the American player.

Wolff is 27th on the LIV Golf money list: only the top 24 are guaranteed a place on the tour for next season.
