The Russian authorities suspect that the group Mars Incorporated, which produces sweets such as M&Ms, Bounty, Milky Way, Twix and pet food such as Pedigree, Royal Canin and Sheba, is providing money to the Ukrainian army. Investigations are currently underway in the Moscow region.
“It is being investigated whether the company provides financial support to the Ukrainian army,” the Russian state news agency TASS confirmed.
According to the independent Russian news agency Mediazona, the impetus for this may have come from the appeal of Kremlin activist Vitaly Borodin. He had previously denounced to the media that the food company was making billions in Russia while providing financial support to the Ukrainian army.
