This third stage, 209 km between Vejen and Vejle, considered the most difficult of the 2023 edition, marked by several minor falls, has long been dominated by a breakaway of seven riders caught 48 km from the finish .
Mads Petersen then made several attacks, the last 23km from the line, before he was joined by Skjelmose, the Danish champion, who won by 10 seconds.
This is the sixth victory this year for Skjelmose, who will start the penultimate stage between Kalundborg and Bagsaerd, which is 178.4 kilometers, wearing the leader’s blue jersey.
