Unai Iribar signs for the Kern Pharma Team, in the fifth combination of pharmaceutical training

He Kern Pharma Team expanded their squad for the 2024 season with the signing of First Iribar. This is the fifth inclusion of the team for the next campaign after the announced registrations of Diego Uriarte, Unai Aznar, Hugo Aznar and Jorge Gutiérrezthey all came fromlFinisher’s Team. The link between both parties will last until December 2025.

Unai Iribar (Ibarra, 1999) He joined the pharmaceutical team after five seasons in the Euskaltel – Euskadi structure, three as under-23 and two as a professional. Among them, the Gipuzkoan established himself as one of the benchmark runners in the amateur category before jumping to the elite in 2022, where he continues to confirm his excellent climbing skills throughout the international calendar.

Juanjo Oroz, General Manager of the Kern Pharma Teamappreciates the inclusion: “We are very happy to count on Unai Iribar. He is a rider we know from the lower categories and even though he has already shown himself at racing levels such as the Basque Country and French classics, we believe he still has the best ahead of him”.

“He is an experienced cyclist with a very good finish in difficult races and, therefore, he fits the needs of the team perfectly. We are forming a very good block for the one-day race and Unai can fit and add a lot to that. In addition, in stage races he changes a lot and from the Kern Pharma Team we will support him one hundred percent so that he can give us his best years”, added Oroz.

The natural cyclist from Ibarra defines himself as a runner who “handles the uphill and with a spark in the small groups that come.” Also, he sees himself as capable of being competitive in different situations: “I also want to fight breakaways and show myself in difficult, twisty and technical terrain.”
