Juventus erases doubts with comfortable victory at Empoli

Date:

Juventus needed a win to calm the atmosphere before the national team break and they did so during their visit to bottom club Empoli, who did not cause them any kind of problem (0-2). The ‘bianconeri’ are third in the Serie A table with 7 points, two behind Inter and Milan, the only two teams to have won all three games played.

Juventus started Serie A with mixed feelings. He made his debut in a convincing 0-2 defeat of Udinese but his game caused many doubts when he drew on the second day of the match at home against Bologna (1-1).

Today, without playing a great game, he kept control of the game at all times and was not surprised by an opponent who had no offensive resources and still did not open his scorecard after three losses.

Danilo, from the annulled goal to 0-1

Danilo He warned in the 10th minute of his danger in shooting actions from set pieces when a goal was disallowed on a corner kick due to a foul in jumping on goal. Erit Berisha.

A few minutes later, at 23′, and following another corner, the Juventino center-back joined the attack again and resolved a disturbance in front of the goal, ending with a low shot. This time the goal went up on the scoreboard.

Vlahovic did not receive a penalty

Before the break, a competitive Juve managed to extend their lead on the scoreboard with a penalty from Youssef Maleh to Federico Gatti, but the jinxed Dusan Vlahovic missed it when goalkeeper Berisha guessed his intention (38′).

Juve took the match at their whim against an Empoli side that didn’t give a single scare Mattia Perin. Frederick Chiesa caressed 0-2 by going under a defender and standing alone against Berisha, but he wanted to fix his shot and missed it by millimeters (58′).

Pogba, frustrated with VAR and Chiesa sentence

The newcomer Paul Pogba scored with a fine volley what was his first goal since February 2022 but it was ruled out at the request of VAR since Vlahovic he was offside when he pushed the ball back with his chest (65′).

Finally Church, fully recovered from his serious knee injury he suffered in January 2022 and benefited his game by playing him Massimiliano Allegri in a more central position, he condemned to flee to a counter, which went beyond the exit of his place of Berisha and, although he stumbled, he got up in time to score an empty goal (82′).

Arkadiusz Milik, with a header on the crossbar, and vice versa moise keanwith a shot off the post, they managed to extend Juventus’ quiet victory.
