Nantes came to Europe based on one goal

Date:

In the exchange of goals, Nantes were the winners, beating Lorient at the Beaujoire stadium (5-3) and placing themselves in the European zone of Ligue 1, which this weekend reached the sixth round.

Pierre Aristouy’s team now have four games without defeat. Two draws and now two wins in their recent matches. He is now sixth. His rival has accumulated three without a win.

Lorient remain fourteenth after a match in which they came out badly despite scoring three goals. They went ahead with a goal from Eli Junior Kroupi but the home team equalized before halftime thanks to Matthis Abline.

Nantes took advantage of their improvement at the start of the second half. Swiss Eray Comert put the hosts ahead, extending their lead in the 55th minute with a goal from Egyptian Mostafa Mohamed from a free kick.

From that moment blows were exchanged. Lorient pulled one back in the 76th minute through a goal from Romain Faivre but Florent Mollet made it 4-2 for Nantes, who suffered at the end after Beninese’s Aiyegun Tosin made it 4-3 with ten minutes left in the game.
