Mick Schumacher will ride for Alpine in the world endurance championship next seasonas announced this Wednesday by the German driver and the Renault-owned brand.
Alpine will enter two A424 Hypercars with the son of seven-time F1 world champion Michael Schumacher, who He will be joined by French drivers Nicolas Lapierre, Matthieu Vaxiviere, Charles Milesi and Paul-Loup Chatinas well as the Austrian Ferdinand Habsburg.
It will be the championship debut for the German driver, who races for Haas in Formula 1 in 2021 and 2022. “A new chapter begins for me at Alpine. I grew up in single-seaters, so Driving a car with a closed cabin and covered tires was a great opportunity to hone my driving skills“said the 24-year-old pilot.
“This year, I missed a lot of racing.. “It’s what I’ve loved doing since I was a kid and sometimes it’s hard to see the other drivers out on the track,” he added.
Alpine said it will confirm its full 2024 squad on February 7.
The weatherwith the highlight being the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, will start in Qatar in March.
