He Sant Andreu Swimming Club (CNSA) fixing the 44th edition of the Cursa de Sant Andreu. The sporting event will take place next Wednesday, December 6, within the framework of the main celebration of the neighborhood of Sant Andreu del Palomar.
The circuit will consist of a 5 kilometer route for adults through the most popular streets of the Sant Andreu neighborhood, as well as three routes for children and another for young people.
Angel BernetCNSA president, states that “It is a matter of pride for the Club to organize this historic event every yearas the second oldest popular race in Barcelona, and brings together more runners, friends and neighbors who want to join this initiative that promotes sport and physical activity.
The registration period is now open and ends on next December 1. Places are limited to 1,300 in the adult race and 400 in the children’s race.
An increasingly popular race
Every year, more runners join this event, where more than 72% of the participants are between 17 and 55 years old, almost 18% are over 56 years old and the remaining 10% are under 16 years old.
In recent years, The race has reached over 1,500 runners. Also, it has a large participation of women, who in recent years have exceeded 30% representation of participants.
In the 2021 edition, 360 women and 769 men registered and in the 2022 edition, 1,014 men and 483 women participated.
The Course has the collaboration of the Barcelona City Council, Aigües de Barcelona,leg-avail‖ others.
