Thai Patty Tavatanakit posted an extraordinary final round of 65 strokes (-7) to win the Aramco Saudi Ladies International with a seven-stroke lead over her main chaser, German Esther Henseleith, and 15 behind Spanish Carlota Ciganda who, finally, ended up getting it. in the top-10 finishing with a -3 and a final round of 70 strokes.
The major champion achieved his start-to-finish victory in four rounds of 66-70-69-65 strokes at the demanding Riyadh Golf Club to win with a total of 18 under par. It was the fifth professional victory for the 24-year-old and her first on the Ladies European Tour (LET) and her first since winning the ANA Inspiration in 2021.
Behind her, the German Esther Henseleit finished the tournament in second place after achieving a round of 69 strokes (-3) in the final round where she could do nothing to stop the Thai victory. The 2019 LET Order of Merit winner had five birdies and two bogeys on his card to cap off a great week.
South African Ashleigh Buhai and Spanish Carlota Ciganda completed the top 10 in Riyadh at five under par.
This week the LET heads to Rabat, in Morocco, to compete in the Lalla Meryem Cup which will take place at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam (Blue Course) from February 22 to 24.
