Liberty Media, the company that owns Formula One, is finalizing the purchase of the Spanish company Dorna Sportsowner of MotoGP, for more than 4,000 million euros, the British newspaper ‘Financial Times’ (FT) announced this Wednesday.
According to sources close to the negotiations cited by the media, Liberty, led by the telecommunications and entertainment magnate John Malonewill acquire Dorna after rejecting another offer from the TKO group, led by a super-agent of Hollywood stars Ari Emanuel.

Despite everything, the FT recalls that for the deal to materialize it will first have to face the approval of the regulatory authorities, as the CVC investment fund already had to get rid of motorcycles in 2006 to buy Formula One, which it was sold. at Liberty in 2017.

According to the newspaper, Liberty’s offer would value Dorna at more than 4 billion euros, including its debt, and although the deal seems close, its announcement could be delayed until next week.
