Sandro Tonali, Italian player Newcastleis accused by the English Football Federation (FA), for breaching on up to 50 occasions the regulations that prohibit professionals from participating in sports bet.
“The Newcastle United midfielder has breached FA Rule E8 50 times when placing bets on football matches between August 12, 2023 and October 12, 2023,” the FA said in a statement made public on Thursday. The footballer now has until April 5, 2024 to show his allegations on this charge.
Let’s remember that Tonali, 23 years old, weighs a 10-month ban from the Italian Federation. This body punished the player last October for his participation in illegal betting with an 18 month suspension. A penalty that was reduced to 10 months after the agreement reached by the player with the Prosecutor’s Office of the transalpine country.
