The speculation is over. Fernando Alonso does not move where he is. The Spaniard signed another multi-year contract with Aston Martin and will continue at Silverstone until at least 2026. “I’m here to stay“Alonso said in the statement. In the last hours there was speculation from Germany about a hypothetical offer from Red Bull but a few hours later they came in front of the official announcement of the renewal.
The 42-year-old Spaniard will be the principle for the period of major change of regulations, where the Aston Martin will team up with Honda. In addition, he will also be with the premiere of Spanish GP in Madrid.
“Securing Fernando’s long-term future at Aston Martin is fantastic news. We have built a strong working relationship over the past 18 months and are united in determination to make this project a success,” said British boss Mike Krack.
“He is hungry for success, he drives better than ever, he is stronger than ever and he is fully committed to making Aston Martin a competitive team. With this agreement we will go until 2026, when we will start our collaboration with Honda”
