Scheffler and Rahm remain in command; Cantlay returned to the podium

Scottie Sheffler and Jon Rahm continue to lead the golf world rankingswhile Patrick Cantlay, also an American, returned to the podium after defeating Australian Cameron Smith and his compatriots Collin Morikawa and Justin Thomas.

Scheffler maintains a solid lead. He has an average of 10.15 points compared to Rahm’s 7.66who at The Memorial, thanks to his good last day, is back in the ‘top 10’ of a tournament after finishing 48th in the PGA Championship, his previous involvement.

Cantlay, third at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin (Ohio), occupies the same positionwhich he hasn’t held since his poor joining The Players in March.

Billy Horschel, winner of The Memorial, rose six places and eleventhwhile Chilean Joaquín Niemann regained two spots and sixteenth.

Adri Arnaus, sixteenth in the Hamburg tournament of the DP World Tour, left the ‘top 50’ by losing two positions and placing 51, ahead of Sergio García by six, who dropped by three. Pablo Larrazabal, now 70, also withdrew.
