The number of transfers has reached a new record with more than 12,000 transfers in professional football, combining men’s and women’s football during this 2024 summer.

The total number of transfers in men’s football broke a new record, surpassing last year’s mark. While last year there were 10,490, FIFA expects that of the transfers still pending, there will be more than 11,000 transfers.

Women’s football has broken several records, including the number of total transfers. In this summer’s market there were 1,125 transfers, surpassing the 853 that took place last year.

Money invested in women’s football transfers
The growth of women’s football continues to take steps forward and the proof of this is the huge investment in transfers in this market, which has doubled in the last year. This summer, 6.1 million euros were spent on transfers compared to 2.73 million invested in 2023.
