The executive director of Chelsea, Chris Jurasekleft his position after a year, in a decision applauded by the club’s fans, who were highly critical of Jurasek’s management of ticket prices. Jurasek, who arrived at Chelsea in May 2023 from Clearlake Capital, the company that owns a majority of the club, is responsible for dealing with fan disputes, managing ticket sales, sponsorships and -remodel the stadium.
According to the British network BBC, Jurasek’s departure was “planned” inside the club and celebrated by fans outside it. “This is a positive change that the club must use to rebuild the trust of the fans,” said Chelsea’s most important fan group.
In addition to increasing ticket prices, Jurasek had to deal with Chelsea starting two consecutive seasons without a major shirt sponsor. If a new CEO is hired, it will be the third at the Stamford Bridge club since the Todd Boehly-led consortium bought Chelsea in the spring of 2022 following the departure of Roman Abramovich.
