3-3: Bilbao Athletic and Zamora drew in a match played on goals

Date:

Bilbao Athletic and Zamora shared the points in an entertaining match held in Lezama. Puppies had everything in their power to secure the three points, but the visitors did not let their guard down at any time and came in time to score a point in the last game of the match. Lack of control, especially on a defensive level, prevailed on the Bilbao grass.

Equality prevailed in the first half, although the clearest chances fell to Sabas’ side. De Luis, with a header, tested goalkeeper Altube first, but Kike Márquez took over the finishing duties from then on. The Cubs spent more time on defense than offense.

The panorama changed significantly in the second half. Canales, one of the highlights of the clash, was the first to try it against a visiting defense which, in its struggle to get the ball from the back, made a big mistake when the ball was released. An error that Buján took advantage of to open the scoring. Irurita added to the difference shortly after completing, after several rejections, a strategic play.

Then the Zamora coach pulled the bench and his team’s reaction was immediate. Roni, taking advantage of a ball that bounced off the post, and Kike Márquez, with a new defensive error by Bilbao Athletic, leveled the contest in six minutes. The second goal of this visitor, with a mild Vaseline, is a real goal.

Changes continued on both sides, surprising some of those carried out by Aranbarri. The red and white’s persistence paid off, with Canales and Buján as great entertainers, with two minutes remaining in extra time in the form of a goal from recently incorporated Ibai Sanz. Everything pointed to a local victory when Clavería beat a hesitant Gastesi at the end of the 96th minute, establishing the final tie on the scoreboard. Distribution of points and better offensive than defensive sensations on both sides.
