It is an “incredible excess of violence” in Graz, a “dark day in the history of the country”. Chancellor Christian Stocker, Minister of the Interior Gerhard Karner and Governor Mario Kunasek took the press for the press on Tuesday afternoon to take a position for the murderous Spree on the Borg of Graz. The political leaders of the country had to struggle with tears over and over again.
Schools should remain the places of peace, said Chancellor Stocker (ÖVP). “My sympathy applies to the family members” – Brothers, sisters and those who would have lost their own children. The sympathy of the entire country should give the surviving relative somewhat comfort. There will be a mourning of three days, Stocker confirmed.
“Flags on half mast”
The whole of Austria will commemorate the victims during the three days that the Austrian flag will be placed on all public buildings at half a mast. On Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. a national funeral minute will be held for the victims.
“No political discussion”
Governor Kunaseek (FPö) have found similar words that there will be no political discussion – “Today it’s about mourning”. Kunaseek thanked the emergency services and the crisis intervention teams – as before. “Especially as the father of a son, I wish our schools are safe.”
Nine dead confirmed perpetrator from the Graz environment
Among other things, the police confirmed that there were nine fatalities – six female, three male. The tenth dead is the perpetrator who would have focused in a school room: the perpetrator was therefore a 21-year-old Austrian. He used to be a student of the deposit in question, living in the Graz Area District and not known. He used two firearms that he had legally.
They didn’t want to guess just as much about the motive: he did not complete the school.
More information in short.
