The Spanish Sarah Sorribes was unable to close out the victory against the Slovakian Rebecca Sramkova who fought back and sealed victory by 1-6, 7-6 (5) and 7-5 and reached the semifinals of the WTA on hard courts in Monastir (Tunisia).
Victory is in the hands of Sara Sorribes. Despite being irregular, she had a match point at 5-3 and was serving in the third set but Sramkova came out again and eventually took the win.
After a strong start, the Spanish woman declined. He was unable to win the second set, when the Slovak reacted and was more successful. The player from Castellón didn’t give up either. Sramkova led 3-0 in the final set but Sara Sorribes came back, winning five games in a row and facing the victory that had been denied her.
Sramkova won after three hours and twenty minutes and the winner will face the clash between seventh-seeded Italian Lucia Bronzetti and Croatian Antonia Ruzic in the semifinals.
On the other side of the draw, German Eva Lys will face Turkish Zeynep Sonmez and Ukrainian Yulia Starodubtseva will face British Sonay Kartal.
