Coco Gauff did not give up in Beijing and secured the round of 16

The American Coco Gauffworld number 6, qualified this Sunday for the round of 16 of the China Open, after defeating the British 7-5, 6-2 Katie Boulter (n.34) in a duel played on the center court of the Beijing complex at night.

Gauff, fourth seed, He needed an hour and 24 minutes to beat Boulter and ensure their place in the next round, safe from the rain that fell in the capital of the Asian giant thanks to the retractable cover of the center court.

Gauff will face the winner of the duel between the Americans in the round of 16 Katie Volynets (n.60) and the Japanese Naomi Osaka (n.73), in a match that was supposed to be held this Sunday but was canceled due to rain.

Gauff, with his countryman Jessica Pegulathey are waiting for other seeds like Italian in the round of 16 Jasmine Paolini and the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenkaall pending to reach the next round.
