Davis Cup winners: All champions after Italy repeat

Date:

Italy beat the Netherlands 2-0 in the final in Malaga, where they revalidated the title won at the same Martín Carpena Sports Palace in 2022. This is the third silver ‘salad bowl’ for the transalpine team, equal to seventh place historically in Germany, Czech Republic and Germany.

It is still a long way from sixth position, where Spain remains with six crowns.

Italy became the fifth country to win in the same season as Davis Cup masculine and Billie Jean King Cup woman, first since the Czech Republic in 2012. This is the eighth repeat of hegemony from one year to the next in the modern Davis era. The previous precedent was from the Czech Republic, in 2012 and 2013.
