After an initial test, Mestalla gave more rhythm to the game and was not intimidated by Espanyol B’s proposal, defending with a low block and continuing to counterattack. Offensive production was scarce and only guest Warren had the clearest chance in the first act, but Caroz appeared to fail one-on-one against Tristan. When they returned from the locker room, Che put their victory on the fast track. Cerdá’s header, coming alone into the center of the area to finish off Pablo López’s cross, opened the scoring, while ten minutes later, Alemañ left the duel seeing for judgment by tricking Tristán in maximum punishment at the hands of Caroz . And in the final stretch, Calvo also put the icing on the cake from eleven meters.
