José Luis Martínez Almeida, mayor of Madrid, said on Monday that the possibility of hosting the Formula One Grand Prix in the future it is a situation that “must be explored” although for now it is “a very preliminary idea”.
The mayor of Madrid spoke the intention of the Community of Madrid to be able to host a Formula One competition in the future as part of the World Cup calendar and whose interests they have already expressed in the organization of the championship.
“This is something that is being talked about and from the Community of Madrid and the institutions it is seen as a preliminary thing. Formula One is one of the few great events that Madrid has not yet hosted and because of this this is an issue that must be explored, although for now that possibility is very preliminary“, said Almeida, in the presentation of ‘Legends’, the football relics museum that will be placed in the capital by the end of the year.
