The Spanish Sarah Sorribes She had a peaceful debut at Wimbledon and left just three games against American Christina McHale (6-2 and 6-1).
The Castellón, who started here as seeded number 32, needed an hour and fifteen minutes to beat McHale, who got here after passing the preliminary phase.
Sorribes only allowed McHale to hold two serves and gave himself once, to close out one of the most wins in the first round and become the second Spaniard to reach the second round, along with Paula Badosa.
One from Castellón could face Serena Williams in the second round, who will first have to beat French Harmony Tan in her first match in a year in the central defender’s final shift on Tuesday.
