Falcao come to Millionaires last summer from Rayo Vallecano with a six-month contract that the Colombian club now wants to extend. The 38-year-old striker is the figurehead of the squad and the club is excited about the idea of him signing a new contract for another year. However, not everything is so simple.
According to information from ‘El Tiempo’, a huge investment is required so that staying at the club does not cause financial problems for the former player of Atlético de Madrid. Falcao expects to close two sponsorship agreements, along with his salary, to pay the sponsorship tax and, according to the aforementioned media, that tax could be around one million dollars.
As the team begins the preseason under the command of David González, the forward is still on a family vacation in the United States, although he is working to stay fit. The Millonario board assures that, despite the distance, there is contact with the player: “Radamel Falcao García is in talks to reach a possible renewal agreement,” they said.
