Official: Paul Pogba is back to be a Juventus player. Six years after his departure from Manchester United, the French world champion has taken the opposite path and on Friday Juventus announced he had signed for four seasons, until 2026.
The return of Pobga, who already played for ‘vecchia signora’ between 2012 and 2016, has aroused real delirium among Juventus fans. His farewell, 6 years ago, was a world record then: 105 million euros the black and white club charged for the transfer. Pogba returned holding a letter of liberty in his pocket.
The new Juventus midfielder, 29, won two titles in his second spell with Manchester United: an English League Cup and a Europa League, in 2016-17. Since then the ‘red devils’ have not conquered any title and they will not play Champions 2022-23 because they finished sixth in the last Premier League.
The Old Trafford club announced on June 1 that the French midfielder, whose contract will end, will not continue. Pogba made 233 games for United, scored 39 goals and provided 51 assists. He left in exchange for 105 million euros, returned at zero cost. Its new purpose is to contribute to return at Juventus, 4th in the last two editions of Serie A, at the top.
