Barcelona commemorates the 30th anniversary of the 1992 Games

Barcelona will commemorate this Thursday, July 21, the 30 years of Olympic Games with an institutional event and an audiovisual show (‘mapping’) in front of Municipality.

The festival includes performances at Plaça Sant Jaume and formerly a work of Hall of Cent of the town hall. Recognition of the role of volunteerism, the transformation the city has undergone and the generational change in the field of sports will be the main characters of the event commemorating the 30th anniversary of Barcelona’92.

The immersive show with image and sound that will be presented in front of the City Hall will be repeated on July 22, 23 and 24 so that everyone who wishes can see it live in Plaça Sant Jaume.

The event will serve to recognize the volunteers who, with their participation, made the success of the Olympic event possible. It also wants to showcase the city’s sporting talent and the changing generation of athletes that has taken place over these three decades.

The event will take place in Plaça Sant Jaume and will consist of a ‘mapping’ in front of the City Hall, musical performances and actions on a stage located in front of the Town Hall.

The show will be broadcast live on TV3 and will start around 10:00 pm It is expected that the square, which will be open to the public, will be attended by people and entities invited to the event because of their links to the Olympic event or the world of sports, as well which is also the broad representation of the members of the 2000 Association of volunteers.

Previously, in the Saló de Cent of the City Council, the institutional event was held with Olympic and Paralympic guests and various personalities. This work is scheduled to start at 8:15 pm and have around 200 people.
