New Iveco eDaily: maximum efficiency with the same functionality

This electric van with more than 300 km of autonomy fully introduces the brand to the new electric era

Iveco has taken a new step in its decarbonisation strategy by introducing the new eDaily, the all-electric version of its legendary van. The goal is clear: to provide all the benefits of zero-emission mobility
without losing the possibilities that their diesel mechanics sisters can boast of.

Aesthetically, the differences from a conventional Daily have been reduced to a decoration of the grille in the electric blue color that has already made the brand business, to the hatch for the charging connector in its center and the identification plates of the model both on the underside of the B-pillar as at the rear of the model. And the new eDaily is Iveco’s gateway to a new era, even reflected in the brand’s logo on the hood, which now features a larger screen print that modernizes the front.

One of the great advantages of eDaily over the competition is that it
same range of versions and conversions than the diesel range: body, cab, double cab, chassis and minibus variants, with a significant range of heights and wheelbases. As a result, the eDaily can boast of the only electric van with a loading volume of 19.6 m3 and a payload of up to 4.6 tons of payload.

But what stands out in the eDaily are the tipper chassis, waste management or even refrigerated formats. A fundamental part of these conversions are the ePTOs, small electric motors up to 15 kW that enable the activation of auxiliary systems such as a vehicle lift, a cooling system, the lifting arm of the tipper or even the powerful system that compacts the waste in a truck full of waste.
One of the big advantages One such system is that it can operate even when the vehicle is completely turned off, feeding on the eDaily batteries, something that obviously has a direct impact on electric range.

The eDaily can be adapted to any type of mission, not only thanks to the generous variety of bodies and conversion options, but also thanks to the modularity offered by the frame and cross-member chassis. In addition to the resistance and robustness that guarantees the use of this type of architecture, the simplicity of its shapes allows to receive 1, 2 and even 3 batteries modularly, each with a capacity of 37 kWh. In this way, the power spectrum goes from 37 kW of the access variant to 111 kW of the higher-power version.

Depending on the version and number of batteries installed, the eDaily offers:
up to nine digits of autonomy homologated, from 120 kilometers with battery,
up to 300 km with 3 batteries. The most interesting thing is not only the possibility of mounting the necessary batteries, but also that Iveco offers this product as an after-sales service. For example, the number of batteries can be increased or decreased even after the eDaily has been removed from the dealer.

The charging system of the eDaily allows fast charging with a power of up to 80 kW, so that the autonomy can be increased by 100 km in just 30 minutes. Not only this, but the brand is so confident in the quality and reliability of its batteries that it offers a warranty of 8 years or 250,000 km, including replacement when the capacity drops below 80%.

Not only have Iveco gone to great lengths to offer the same functionality and performance as a diesel version, but they have also joined forces to make the eDaily a true benchmark in connectivity.

One of the most important innovations is the eDaily Routing application, which uses the ESP of the vehicle itself to calculate the weight of the load we are carrying and our driving style and calculate the estimated autonomy based on these variables. Not only this, it keeps the operator informed when the battery is low and even allows to configure riding modes and regeneration levels from the office.

Another novelty is the Iveco Driver Pal, an Alexa-based voice assistant that is installed in the space of the central mirror. In addition to guiding us to the nearest restaurant when we are hungry or giving us traffic information, it is also able to inform the driver about aspects such as battery level or the location of the nearest charging point.

The Iveco ON Easy Daily app completes eDaily’s range of connected services. This will make it possible to evaluate the driver’s driving style, program the remote charging or precondition the cabin so that the driver always finds it at an optimal temperature.
