Renault Kangoo E-Tech 100% Electric, with record habitability and cargo space adapted for both professional and private customers

As a historic mobility brand and leader in electric mobility in Europe, Renault is taking another step towards an even more competitive, balanced and electrified offering. With this, it aims to embody modernity and innovation in technological, energy and mobility services within the automotive industry. 25 years after its debut in the fun touring car segment thanks to a unique design and equipped for the first time with a sliding side door, the new Renault Kangoo adapts to the new era of zero-emission mobility with the electric version of the popular kangoo. With more than 4.4 million units sold worldwide, Kangoo represents the best of both worlds: that of a car for families because of its habitability and design, and that of a car for professionals because of its boot volume and robustness.

The new 100% electric Kangoo E-Tech, with a body length of 4.48 metres, inherits the practicality, safety and comfort features of the internal combustion engine version and offers best-in-class habitability thanks to three seats that can accommodate three adults. as well as the heated air outlet that provides optimal thermal comfort for rear seat passengers and a large luggage compartment of 850 liters (under the drawer), the largest volume in its category. Thanks to the Kangoo E-Tech-specific bench seat in the second row, which slides more than 140 mm, the luggage compartment can be expanded to 2,500 litres.

The price of the Kangoo E-Tech range starts from 32,290 euros for the version with a van body. VAT, registration tax, transport, registration fees or discount linked to financing are not included. The indicated price includes the brand’s contribution to the MOVES III Plan.

The exterior design continues to show off the ribbed horizontal bonnet and a very vertical front end finished with a specific grille that incorporates the charging socket behind the logo. As with the thermal version, the interior design includes a new dashboard that, depending on the version, integrates a brushed dark wood look finish, a comfortable cabin and more ergonomics in the driving position. The instrument panel evolves, showing specific data on electric driving.

Thanks to its lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 45 kW, consisting of eight independent and easily repairable modules, the electric Kangoo E-Tech offers a range of up to 292 kilometers. The batteries have a warranty of 8 years or 160,000 km. Within this time interval, they will be replaced for free if their power decreases to a level below 70% of their health. The new Kangoo is equipped with an electric motor with 90 kW (121 hp) and 245 Nm of torque that is immediately available. An Eco mode that limits the power (56 kW) and the top speed of the vehicle (110 km/h) optimizes the range.

The driver can choose from three braking modes to recover energy. The limited regenerative mode is adapted to driving on highways and highways. The default regenerative mode for versatile use, with a sense of deceleration similar to that of a thermal engine vehicle. The maximum regenerative mode is used for use in traffic jams and on mountain roads. Information related to the selected drive mode, electrical power management and driver aids can be grouped in a fully digital and customizable 10-inch instrument cluster, available as an option.

To ensure the best autonomy at any time of the year, the 100% electric new Kangoo E-Tech has a two-zone air conditioning system controlled by a heat pump. This makes it possible to produce heat in winter and to keep cold in summer according to the principle of reversible air conditioning. The heater supplies the passenger compartment with the calories recovered from the outside, while the air conditioning extracts the calories from the passenger compartment to transfer them to the outside of the vehicle. The heat pump provides optimum performance at a temperature between -15 and +15 °C. This feature not only provides first-class thermal comfort, but also allows you to achieve up to 30 km of additional autonomy. The new 100% electric Kangoo E-Tech offers an optional windscreen, front seats and heated steering wheel; these options provide even greater thermal comfort and allow greater use in winter with little impact on autonomy.

To charge the battery, the new 100% electric Kangoo E-Tech has different types of chargers: a three-phase 11 kW AC charger, adapted to all types of household charging, and a 22 kW AC fast charger that allows you to go from 5% to 80 % in 2.5 hours; Moreover. For charging in public ultra-fast chargers, an 80 kW DC charger is offered that allows you to restore 170 km of autonomy in about 30 minutes. A foldable storage drawer allows you to store the various cables in the luggage compartment. Connected to an 11 kW terminal, the battery charge of the new electric Kangoo will be completed from 15% to 80% in 2 hours and 40 minutes, while in a 7.4 kW domestic wallbox it will take less than 6 hours. In combination with the 22 kW charger, the battery has a liquid cooling system and an electrical resistance that allows it to be used in the correct temperature range to optimize its autonomy and reduce charging time.

Via the My Renault smartphone app or the Easy Link multimedia system, the new Kangoo offers specific connected services such as battery charging level programming and remote monitoring of the charging status; the programming of the thermal preconditioning of the passenger compartment; searching for charging points located on the programmed route and calculating accessible destinations with the remaining battery life.

The Kangoo E-Tech is available with a combi body in three trim levels: Authentic, which offers the essential equipment needed by customers looking for both personal and professional use; Equilibre, for those customers who want to offer a more comfortable and economical passenger transport service; Techno, for families or professionals looking for comfort and safety with a distinctive design.
