The Dacia Sandero was the best-selling private car in Spain

A car has remained at the forefront of private vehicle registrations in Spain for the past decade. The
Dacia Sanderowith a total of 20,911 units sold in 2022. Dacia’s bestseller has managed to maintain this leadership, according to the manufacturer, thanks to “the best quality-design-price ratio on the market”.

Since its launch in 2008, almost a quarter of a million Spaniards have bought a Sandero. 78% of customers have opted for the Stepway version, which has a design more focused on off-road, and for the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) engine. ), which has the Eco label, already accounts for 35% of turnover.

What’s more, Dacia is the leader in this LPG in Spain,
with a market share of 85%, and the Sandero the best-selling model. Customers of this technology enjoy double autonomy, as the engines can run on gas or petrol.

The success of the Dacia brand is also confirmed by the rest of its range: Duster (Top 5 C-SUV for private individuals), Jogger (leader of the C Break segment for private individuals) and Spring (the best-selling electric urban vehicle in the segment A, for individuals). A success that will continue in 2023 with the launch of the hybrid Jogger.

Francisco Hidalgogeneral manager of Dacia in Spain and Portugal, is very proud of Sandero’s ten years of leadership in Spain and optimistic about the commercial dynamism of the brand in Spain in 2023. “Our range will be enriched with the new Dacia Jogger Hybrid in 2023 and we will also already have the new brand identity throughout the range and even in our commercial network I am sure that the new emblem, the new colors and the new visual identity will contribute to further increasing the success of the Dacia brand in our country.”

A range that will be completed in 2023 with the launch on the market of the 100% electric E-Tech Trafic Van and, for the first time in the brand’s history, the Kangoo in combi-body and 100% electric E-Tech engine .

In 2021, Renault started its offensive in segment C in line with Renault’s strategic plan with Arkana and in 2022 it was reinforced by the electric Megane E-Tech and the new Austral. In this sense, the brand increased sales in segment C in the retail channel by 7.2%.

In terms of the electrified market, the Renault range continues to conquer the Spanish market, with 2022 being the first year in which more than half of Renault vehicles sold will be electrified (50.8% compared to 30% in 2021).
