According to Reyes Maroto, the goal is to make access to aid “more attainable” for companies
The government could extend the deadlines to 2028 for the implementation of projects seeking investments from the Strategic Project for the
Restoration and economic transformation of the electric and connected vehicle (Belongs to VEC).
This has been confirmed by Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Reyes Maroto, who has confirmed that it can be extended from the current 2026 limit, a date the automotive sector considered too early. Maroto explained that from the government
are negotiating with the European Commission so that investments “have more time to develop”.
Another novelty put forward by the Minister is the inclusion of new projects within the funding lines of the Perte VEC, such as those related to energy efficiency, which have so far been excluded from this support.
In addition, with a view to the second call, the government is lowering the European requirement to meet 100% guarantees in all cases. For example, the head of Industry has ensured that access to aid for companies becomes “more feasible”.
Maroto made these statements before the extraordinary meeting of the
Conference for the tourism sector held at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism. “The goal is that the entire productive fabric has easy access to aid, mainly small and medium-sized businesses, which will be subject to fewer demands,” he stressed.
