Sedauto, the most sustainable Volvo dealer

Date:

The new facilities stand out for their efficiency and respect for the environment, which have earned them the distinction awarded by the brand at the national level

The new Sedauto dealership brings so many key elements together, and is so well coordinated, that they make it a sustainable space. Or rather, the most durable in Spain for Volvo. This became clear last Wednesday with the presentation of the recognition by the Swedish brand to the official concession of the Murcia region. The event, which also served as the official inauguration of these facilities, was attended by José María Galofré Ragel, CEO/CEO of Volvo Car Spain; Enrique Entrala Valenzuela, Director of Network Development for the group; Raúl García Fernández, General Manager of Sedauto, and a broad representation of the brand’s management team.

The dealer, located at Carretera de Madrid, 32 B in the Murcia district of Espinardo, “embodies our professional and environmental ambitions,” noted García Fernández. In this sense, it stands out for having the ISO 14001 environmental standard and the “Carbon Neutral” certification since 2019 (the first in the Region to achieve it). Added to this are the installation of photovoltaic panels with 100 kW capacity on the roof and a home automation system to reduce energy consumption by 30%, as well as technology for rainwater collection, purification and reuse of 70% of the total.

It has developed a vertical garden prototype in collaboration with the University of Murcia in the field of the sheet metal and paint booths, with which they test different plant species to act as a green filter for gas emissions. In addition, it has created its own forest with outdoor furniture made from recycled wood, so that employees and visitors can use it as a recreation room.

“We want this catalog of solutions not to be a matter of image, but rather an example of what can be done humbly,” said Sedauto’s president, confessing that “we’ve put all our enthusiasm and effort into making our customers have the highest quality services, in line with what a brand like Volvo demands, a benchmark that has always cared about people’s safety and is now more than ever committed to protecting its future.”

This reality of dealership was already validated by Faconauto in 2019 with the ‘Environment and Sustainability’ prize, for the commendable work of the SOS Human Legacy Foundation, launched by Raúl García Fernández, which has the support of several companies in the Murcia region and carries out numerous ecological and social actions, such as waste collection on beaches (so far it has removed more than 2,000 kilos).

Also at the meeting, Galofré Ragel and Entrala Valenzuela García Fernández presented a plaque commemorating 25 years of Sedauto in the Community, in the presence of numerous guests, including the General Director of Sports of the Regional Government, Francisco Javier Sánchez, the parents of tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, representatives of companies, employees and the media. “It is a pride and privilege to be a part of Volvo; I’ve learned and enjoyed a lot in these years, and I’ll bet on another 25,” said Sedauto’s general manager, who compared Volvo Car Spain’s CEO to Ulises, from Homer’s ‘The Odyssey’: “You take the helm. of this company and you know how to transform it».

During his speech, the CEO highlighted some of the brand’s strategic goals, such as that all of its vehicles will be electric by 2030, that the company will be carbon neutral by 2040 by reducing emissions across the value chain and that it has replaced animal leather with including sustainable materials.
