What are the blue screens appearing on Microsoft computers after the fall?

Date:

Commonly known as the “screen of death,” it is unique to the Microsoft Windows operating system and appears on the system when it cannot recover from an error.

Microsoft’s computer failure that has brought down airlines, banks and media outlets around the world has also produced one of the worst images when many computers are turned on: the so-called ‘blue screen of death’.

This blue screen of death (BSoD) appears when the Microsoft Windows operating system cannot recover from an error of the system or thinks that it will not work. And it stops, it freezes, it cannot continue to work.

At this point the blue screen will appear, usually with an error code that can help diagnose the problem without fixing it forces the computer to rebootaccording to Microsoft on its company website.

Blue screens are a Windows feature only, they do not appear in other operating systems such as Mac or Linux.

The ‘screen of death’ was the brainchild of Steve Ballmer, when he was head of Microsoft’s operating systems division, and was designed for Windows 1.0, the first system developed by the company in 1985.

From then until now, the appearance, while remaining blue, has changed as operating systems have been replaced and the company has attempted to reduce the number of outages.

The current appearance is presented since Windows appeared, with a light blue background, with the drawing of two dots and a bracket, similar to the emoji of sadness and frustration on social networks, and with a universal text that does not indicate the error that has been made.
