CUPRA reveals its exciting plans for the future

A new era is born thanks to the three electrified models that will arrive by 2025: Terramar, Tavascan and UrbanRebel

CUPRA unveils its exciting plans for the future, featuring new heroes for a new era. And it does in Terramar, Sitges, where it all started four years ago to now write a new chapter in its history.

To date, the brand has delivered nearly 200,000 units, while sales have risen from €430 million in 2018 to almost €2,200 million in 2021, numbers far above all expectations. This year, CUPRA aims to double its turnover, turnover and worldwide network of CUPRA Masters and CUPRA City Garages.

In 2025, CUPRA will enter a new era with three new electrified models: Terramar, Tavascan and UrbanRebel, as well as with its current renewed range.

The first vehicle to represent the ambition and character of the challenging brand was the CUPRA Ateca, a unique model in its segment.

Two years later, the brand launched the CUPRA León, the ‘king of lions’. It was the first model in the range with a wide range of powerful engines, and also CUPRA’s first electrified model, thanks to its powerful plug-in hybrid engine.

This was followed by the first vehicle developed exclusively by CUPRA, the Formentor. The crossover SUV, with nearly 100,000 delivered worldwide to date, has become the company’s best-selling model.

Then came the CUPRA Born, the brand’s first 100% electric car, demonstrating that electrification and performance go hand in hand. But the vehicles are only part of the story.

Plug-in hybrid technology has shown that electrification is part of CUPRA’s DNA, and the range of vehicles that benefit from it has become a big part of what is on offer today. This team will be joined by the CUPRA Terramar, a sports SUV that pays tribute to the famous Sitges circuit and combines bold proportions with a striking design.

It will be available with combustion engines and with a new generation of plug-in hybrid powertrains offering a range of approximately 100 kilometers in pure electric mode.

The next step will be taken by the Tavascan, which responds to CUPRA’s electrified vision and will remain faithful to the prototype presented in 2019. Some of its design cues are clearly insinuated in the 2021 CUPRA Tavascan Extreme E Concept. The Tavascan not only represents contemporary electrification, but will also help the brand expand into new markets when launched in 2024.

In 2025, CUPRA will launch the UrbanRebel, an electric city car that will take the brand far beyond its traditional boundaries. Driven by emotion, the UrbanRebel has been designed and developed for a more rebellious electric world.

At 4.03 meters in length, it is a true sustainability hero as it integrates advanced recycled polymers and bio-based materials, making for a more environmentally conscious vehicle.

The lightweight design architecture, both on the outside and inside, helps the 226 hp (166 kW) electric motor and battery pack deliver great performance and range. The electric city car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds and has a range of up to 440 kilometers (Range version).
