Date:

It is the first of its kind both in the history of the brand and on the car market. It can be purchased through the brand’s website, which allows a 100% digital purchase with complete security, and will hit the market in early 2023

Peugeot has launched the 408, a new model that will hit the market in early 2023 to completely revolutionize the car market. And it is that the Leon brand has created a model with
a feline pose and a unique charm, unites it with the excellence of efficiency-oriented engineering and smart electrification. You can now buy through the brand’s website, enabling a 100% digital purchase with complete security. Customers can buy their new car, negotiate the delivery of their used car and finance their new car from their smartphone, tablet or PC. Every customer has the freedom to choose whether they want to receive their car for free at home.

At first glance, the 408 is distinguished by its dynamic fastback body and
for its unmistakable design, but also through an approach that distances itself from all known categories. The lines are muscular, the grille, painted in body color to blend in perfectly with the front, is accentuated by the new Peugeot emblem with a lion’s head. The inverted cut of the rear bumper surprises and gives the profile a strong appearance. Also at the front, the fang-shaped light signature integrates the 408 perfectly into the Peugeot family, as do the three-claw LED taillights.

At 4.69m long on a 2.79m wheelbase, the new 408 offers remarkable space in the second row, with 188mm of knee room. The luggage compartment is also generous with a capacity of 536 liters,
expandable to 1,611 liters when the rear seat backs are folded down. The height is 1.48 m, which allows the drawing of a fine and elegant body. This achieves the best aerodynamic efficiency.

Intended as a high-end C-segment fastback, it also offers:
plenty of facilities to enjoy entirely from the pleasure of travel and mobility. The front seats are particularly comfortable and have received AGR certification from an independent German association of experts in ergonomics and back health. This certification guarantees both the ergonomics and the amplitude of the adjustment of the front seats. Between these seats, the arc of the center console extends into a location for wireless phone charging. The rest of the console can be used exclusively for storage and functionality with an armrest, 2 USB-C connections (charging/data), 2 large cup holders and
up to 33 liters of space for all kinds of objects

Likewise, the new model offers its driver and passengers the latest generation of the Peugeot i-Cockpit, immediately recognizable by its compact steering wheel designed to offer greater driving pleasure and controlled agility. In the cockpit, an emphasis has been placed on quality and connectivity, with the latest technologies to make the driving and travel experience more intuitive and satisfying.

The new digital instrumentation is located at eye level and above the handlebars and features a 10-inch digital display. The system has
fully configurable i-toggles which, like an open book under the central screen, offer an aesthetic and a technological level unique in the segment. Each i-toggle is a tactile shortcut to air conditioning settings, a telephone contact, a radio station, launching an application… anything at the user’s discretion. In addition, the dashboard construction is based on a ‘high-vent’ architecture, which places the vents in an elevated position just in front of the occupants’ heads, enhancing their thermal comfort.

The engine range includes:
two plug-in hybrid versions 180 and 225 hp
and a petrol version 130 hp. The three engines are offered in combination with an EAT8 8-speed automatic gearbox, a guarantee of tranquility and efficiency. There is no diesel version available and a 100% electric model will be launched in the future.

And efficiency was central to the development of the 408, as the combination of aerodynamic efforts, weight reduction (from 1,396 kg) and low-emission engines ensures that the vehicle can boast low fuel consumption. hybrids and for the 130 hp petrol version.
