A total of 780 fixed-speed radars, including 92 sectional, 545 mobile radars, 12 helicopters, 245 mobile and belt control cameras (29 more cameras than last summer), 39 regulatory drones, 23 of which have reporting capability, and 34 ATGC camouflaged motorcycles ready to watch the Spanish roads this summer. The latter, the great novelty this holiday season, will circulate on the roads with the highest number of motorcyclists with the
goal to reduce accidents and make sure that you drive responsibly.
The Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT) has everything ready for this first special traffic operation of the summer, for which 4.5 million road trips are planned. 44 million is expected for the entire month of July.
As usual and not just in special operations, but every weekend of the summer,
most unfavorable hours to start the journey They are between 3:00 PM and 11:00 PM on Friday mornings and Saturday mornings, where traffic will be intense, especially at the exits of major cities. On Sunday afternoon, with many citizens returning to their homes after the end of the weekend, there will also be increased traffic volume entering urban centers, which will last until late into the night.
To facilitate mobility on the road, Traffic
adopts the following measures:
-Installation of reversible and extra lanes with cones during times of the highest traffic flow and sections on certain roads.
– Drawing up and signaling alternative routes.
-Dynamic signaling via 2,200 variable message panels of the main traffic variables: travel times, alternative routes, road incidents, etc.
-Stop works affecting the roads on all roads to minimize the impact on traffic during the summer days of departure and return.
-The holding of sporting events and other events will be restricted.
– The traffic of trucks carrying dangerous goods and vehicles that require special permission to drive at certain times of the days with the most trips will be restricted.
