Hyundai has unveiled the sleek and timeless design of the highly anticipated IONIQ 6, the second model in the IONIQ brand of electric vehicles. Describing it as an ‘electrified streamliner’, the manufacturer says it is aerodynamically shaped and uses sustainable materials in innovative ways to reflect the current values of electric vehicle customers.

Inspired by Hyundai’s Prophecy electric concept car, the IONIQ 6 features clean, simple lines and a streamlined shape that Hyundai designers describe as Emotional Efficiency. The IONIQ 6’s streamlined and electrified concept, combined with the smooth enveloping interior, create a unique silhouette for the new era of electric mobility, while the design language Ethical Uniqueness reflects energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.

IONIQ 6 reflects ethical and unique design through energy efficiency and the use of sustainable materials. The design of IONIQ 6 has been people-oriented from the start, while the interior space has been developed simultaneously with the exterior shape. A great deal of effort has gone into maximizing and optimizing the interior space by extending it both at the front and rear. This has resulted in a unique aerodynamic silhouette and a spacious interior.

Like the award-winning IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6 implements the Hyundai Look design strategy, which gives each model a unique look, like chess pieces. Following a customer-centric direction, Hyundai develops its design process with different lifestyles in mind rather than relying on a single approach.

The shell-like interior of the IONIQ 6 serves as a comfortable haven and personal space. It is packed with practical features and sustainable materials to facilitate a peaceful, eco-friendly lifestyle and mobility experience.

Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) has enabled designers to extend the interior, both front and rear, to maximize legroom and space for passengers to sit comfortably and comfortably inside the vehicle. The platform also makes it possible to design a completely flat floor, which gives a spacious feeling.

The user-centric interior architecture is perfectly illustrated by the ergonomically designed control unit which is centrally located to reduce distractions and encourage safe and intuitive driving. The modular dashboard integrates a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen and 12-inch digital instruments. The bridge-type center console offers comfortable and generous storage space.

Two-tone mood lighting provides comprehensive illumination in the interior of the IONIQ 6. Users can choose from a spectrum of 64 colors and six two-tone themes developed by subject matter experts to help drivers and passengers feel comfortable and relaxed. Four-point interactive lights on the handlebars allow easy communication between driver and vehicle.

The omission of the buttons on the front doors provides more space and more storage space. Transparent details on the dashboard, the map pocket in the doors and the cover of the lower console further accentuate the feeling of space and uniqueness.
