Renault is already accepting reservations for the new Austral

More than 34,000 people interested in Austral have already signed up for the “Austral now” program.

Renault opens reservations for the new Austral for the first time. Produced at the Palencia plant destined for the national and international market, it will be one of the pillars of the recapture of the C-segment that is the heart of the world car market.

The car introduces the second generation of the E-TECH hybrid engine, developed and patented by Renault. The hybrid E-TECH engine, a concentrate of technology, has a new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo petrol engine and a new electric motor that runs on 400 V. Together and depending on the version, they produce 160 or 200 hp. The efficiency – 42% – is among the best on the market and consumption – from 4.5 l/100 km1 – is comparable to the most modern diesel engines, while CO2 emissions are less than 105 g/km1. All this ensures a lot of driving pleasure.

As the first level of hybridization, Renault proposes the Mild Hybrid 140 or 160 hp engine, which is based on a 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbocharged direct injection petrol engine already available in the current range. Developed in collaboration with Daimler, this new engine is assisted by an alternator that acts as a starter motor and a 12V lithium-ion battery. Get a « Best in class » consumption, from 6 l/100 km and emissions of 138 g CO2/km.

The Austral is designed to comfortably accommodate the whole family. It offers a high-tech driving position, a modern and quality interior, as well as practicality and habitability at the best level.

The OpenR display is one of the largest in the car market. It combines the display of data from the instrument panel with a multimedia system and navigation that take advantage of the best applications and services from Google.

Modular and versatile thanks to the CMF-CD platform, it is equipped with a rear seat that can slide up to 16 centimeters, allowing it to be adapted to every need, increasing the volume of the trunk or the space for the passengers in the second row.

This vehicle inaugurates the third generation of Renault’s four-wheel drive system: « 4CONTROL Advanced ». This system, unique in the C-SUV segment, offers maneuverability comparable to that of a city car, while at the same time providing road stability typical of higher segments.
