In Italy, a heavily drunk American soldier drove her car over a 15-year-old. The boy, who had been on a bike path near Pordenone, died at the scene of the accident. The 20-year-old woman was arrested and placed under house arrest at the American base in Aviano.
The woman, who was on her way home from a nightclub visit, reportedly lost control of the car after a roundabout and collided with the boy around 2.30 am.

The two friends traveling with the teen were unharmed. The soldier suffered minor injuries from broken glass and her airbag. Her blood alcohol level was four times the legal limit.
