Corporate and energy agents appreciate the energy emergency plan and have made contributions

This was explained by the Minister of Culture and Language Policy and spokesman for the Basque government, Bingen Zupiriaspeaking to journalists in San Sebastian, where he stressed that “today is an important day”.

Zupiria explained that during Tapia’s working meeting with representatives of Euskadi’s business organizations and the Basque industrial clusters, these agents “have a positive feedback of the draft contingency plan prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development”, explaining that they have received: contribute a lot improve.

Along these lines, he has pointed out that the document that “will be reworked” picking up these new contributions and will be sent to the Vice-President of the Spanish Government, Teresa Ribera, so that “it can be coordinated with the other government agencies and sent to the European Union”.

The spokesman for the Basque Executive also pointed out that Arantxa Tapia has received “a positive assessment” from the Vice President “both for the form of the document containing the emergency measures that can be taken in the Basque Country, and for the characteristics of the the measures contained therein.

Zupiria recalled that the energy emergency plan has “three main lines”. The first one of them refers to the measures that Basque public institutions can “take in their activities to consume less energy, find alternative energy sources and promote everything related to the recycling and reuse of elements and materials”.

The Basque councilor pointed out that the third “pata” is aimed at the general population as well as families, where “the importance of consuming the energy we need in a reasonable way is remembered, but we are also invited to think about how we live in our places.” , municipalities and communities can find formulas for energy generation and how we can also improve the recycling of the waste we produce”.

Finally, he pointed out that the plan also includes: “the whole range of measures and aid” which the Basque administrations have adopted to “meet the investment needs required by this situation”. “It is a collective challenge that we as a country face to face this situation with few certainties,” he concluded.
