A particularly brutal case of official suspicion occurred Friday evening in Vorarlberg. Two men posing as plainclothes police officers stopped a driver in Dornbirn Wallenmahd and were fined 180 euros. The “real” police fear that this has not been the only case of this nature.
On Friday evening around 8 p.m., a 29-year-old woman was arrested and checked by an alleged civilian police patrol in Dornbirn Wallenmahd. When checking the vehicle, the two “officials” found a violation of the motor vehicle regulations and subsequently collected a fine of 180 euros. A receipt for the fine paid was not issued, which the woman found strange.
As the Dornbirn Police investigation revealed, it was not a federal police patrol, but an official assumption by two previously unknown perpetrators, who are described as follows:
- “Police Officer 1”: Man, 30-35 years old, about six feet tall, dark hair combed back, wore an ear stud on his left ear (tube about 20mm in diameter)
- “Police Officer 2”: Male, 30-35 years old, about 5 feet tall, lighter hair
- Both men wore unarmed police uniforms and “old” radios.
- The vehicle was a silver Skoda with a blue magnetic light on the roof. The fake police officers used an orange trowel to stop them.
Since it cannot be ruled out that the same perpetrators have already made several “stops” and asked people to pay a fine, any victims and witnesses are requested to contact the Dornbirn Police Inspectorate on +43/59133 8140 .
