San Sebastián Airport records an increase in passenger traffic of 77% compared to August 2019. At Vitoria Airport, passenger traffic grows by 37.9% compared to August 2019 and merchandise by 8.6% compared to the same month last year.
The Bilbao Airport has the registered better august of its history with 572,094 passengers, 1% more than in the same month of 2019, before the pandemic, airport operator AENA reports. Since January, 3,284,860 people have passed through the airport, which represents a recovery of 83.3% of the volume realized in 2019.
In terms of traffic type, national traffic grew by 25.4% in August compared to the same month of 2019, reaching 358,904 passengers. International passengers recover 76.1% compared to August 2019, with a total volume of 212,696 passengers.
The San Sebastian Airport the month of August closed with a 77% growth in the number of passengers compared to the same month of 2019, representing a total of 42,231 travelers. The data collected between January and August was 242,603 passengers, 15.4% more than in the same period of 2019.
The Airport from Victoria Foronda registered 26,997 passengers in August, almost 40% more (39.9%) than in the same month of 2021 and a 37.9% more compared with the same period 2019, before the covid-19 pandemic.
Freight transported increased in Foronda in August to 5,423 tons, 8.6% more than in 2021, leaving Vitoria airport the fourth with the highest freight traffic in Spain behind those of Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona-El Prat and Zaragoza
