Much damage – Carinthia stole the company’s fuel card shortly before retirement

Date:

A Carinthian who stole his employer’s fuel card shortly before his retirement probably wanted to refuel for free. He diligently continued to refuel at the company’s expense – but months later he was caught.

Already in mid-February, the 63-year-old man from the St. Veit an der Glan district stole the fuel card from his employer, a company from Liebenfels. At that point, he was about to retire – and his company car had actually long since been deregistered.

Undiscovered for half a year
But that didn’t stop the man from continuing to refuel at the company’s expense, even though he was already retired. Until 1 August, so almost half a year, he paid for about 20 refueling with the card. Mainly at a gas station in Liebenfels.

His former company suffered damage of more than a thousand euros as a result. The pensioner has since been identified on the basis of video recordings and has confessed. He was reported.
