Although she met all the deadlines and correctly completed the energy voucher form, a pensioner from Innsbruck does not receive her 150 euros in credit. It will be postponed until next year.
A deduction of 150 euros on the electricity bill. The government promised that with the energy cost compensation. Money that many now urgently need. Gudrun Kothbauer from Innsbruck also looked forward to this credit. “As soon as I got the form in June, I filled it out and sent it in,” recalls the minimum pensioner. She went to the Innsbrucker Kommunalbetriebe (IKB) “so that everything is filled in correctly”.
Yet the nasty surprise came with the annual statement in August: “The receipt was not there.” When she asked the hotline, the retiree got the answer that the credit would not be debited until 2023. And apparently she’s not alone. Neighbors and friends also received no compensation, the Innsbruck resident reports.
The only thing a pensioner has left is to wait until next year
The “Tyrolean Crown” asked the Ministry of Finance. The fact that the voucher can only be taken into account in 2023 may be related to the fact that there was less than two weeks between the repayment and the electricity bill or that the energy supplier was switched after submission. This was not the case with Mrs Kothbauer.
The ministry did not offer a concrete solution, the minimum pensioner will probably have to wait until 2023 – like many others. Kothbauer is of course not happy about this: “We need the voucher now and not in a year!”
