The independent UN mission set up to investigate the invasion of Ukraine has confirmed that Russia is guilty of war crimes in the country during the war. The mission’s chairman, Erik Mose, made his first appearance today before the United Nations Human Rights Council, which approved this investigation in March, to list a long list of war crimes committed in the zones of Kiev, Kharkov, Chernihiv and Sumithe areas studied so far.

Following the oral mission report, a full document of their investigations will be presented at the Council meeting in March 2023.
The Ukrainian delegation, for its part, has asked the same UN body to set up a specific court to try crimes of the Russian war during the invasion.
