The woman said that a group of boys tortured and threatened her with violence while she was traveling alone by train. Daniel Clark said the four boys attacked him with a blow to the face, face and ear, while the other crew members and passengers did nothing.
The 26-year-old Bristol said he was told he had been injured and someone spat on him as he traveled by train from Somerset to Bristol Temple Mead on Sunday, April 3 at 5pm. He told Bristol Live that the four boys, aged between 12 and 14, continued to harass him even as he yelled at them to leave.
He was sitting alone at the Great Western Railway Service table when the boys surrounded him and started to scare him. She said, “I felt helpless, as if no one was helping me.
“It’s one, I always thought I should have done something different, but I stood up for myself.” He shouted at the boys to leave, but they harassed him over and over again.
“They said, ‘Give us your Instagram account and we’ll go. Daniel says one of the boys threatened him with a knife.
When an employee passed the train, he called for help but said he asked for a ticket repeatedly. He says a staff member asked the boys to leave the train for the next station before leaving.
“It makes sense that things like this happen every day, because nobody does anything about it, there are always movements for women’s rights, but what is the point when something like this happens every day and nobody gets involved,” Daniel said.
A GWR spokesperson apologized, saying: “Our personnel undergo incident management training for the safety of those on board, however, in the end, only the police can investigate allegations of crime.” Daniel says that before he gets harassed, no. And another on the train tried to help him, except for one woman whose boys were yelling at her.
Then a group of boys got off the train at the station, but they said one of them had spat as he was leaving. Daniel stayed on the train until he arrived at Temple Mead. He said what the boys did to him was “terrible,” but criticized passengers and staff for not helping them.
When Daniel got off the train, crying, one of the employees saw him and took him to the station police station, where he gave a statement. He says he didn’t sleep much that night and couldn’t go to work the next day, and despite being a “confident” person, the accident shocked him.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “BTS received a message on Sunday 3 April at 5:58pm that a woman had been threatened by a young group on a train, Bristol Temple going to the station. An investigation is underway into the incident. Witnesses or Anyone with BTP contact information by writing or calling 61016 at 0800 40 50 40 03/04/22 438.
A GWR spokesperson said: “We are truly sorry. We expect anyone to be able to travel on our train without the violence of their companions.
“Our staff undergo incident management training for the safety of all people on board, however, in the end, only the police can investigate allegations of crimes. British Transport Police are investigating and we will provide all possible assistance.”
