A 17-year-old suffered serious injuries in Vienna-Favorit on Sunday evening. He was stabbed in the stomach during a fight. Witnesses raised the alarm, then police officers provided first aid before professional rescue took over. In the hospital, the boy came to the intensive care unit. On Monday, doctors described his condition as stable, police spokesman Daniel Fürst said.
At about 6.45 pm, eyewitnesses called the police about a brawl in Quellenstraße involving several people. “According to initial information, knives and firearms had been used. In the Puchsbaumgasse district, police officers were able to see a 17-year-old with serious injuries,” the spokesperson said.
Knives and shells seized at crime scene
According to the three eyewitnesses, an unknown person shot several times with a pistol during the argument. He also hit the 17-year-old and injured one side with a knife in the stomach area. The injured person has not yet been questioned. A knife and several bullet casings were found at the scene.
The perpetrator fled, but the search that was started immediately yielded nothing. The Vienna State Criminal Investigation Department, the Southern Department, Life Insurance Department, is leading the investigation.
